Raiders Sweep Shawnee with Dominant Varsity, JV Wins

The Benjamin Logan High School baseball teams earned a convincing sweep over Shawnee on Thursday, with the varsity squad rolling to a run-rule victory and the junior varsity team following with a strong all-around performance.

The varsity Raiders defeated Shawnee 12–2, powered by a big day from Tinsman, who drove in four runs on three hits. He delivered RBI hits in the second, third, and fifth innings to lead the offensive surge.

Benjamin Logan took control early, answering Shawnee’s first-inning run with a quick response and then breaking the game open with a five-run second inning. The Raiders continued to add on in the third, capitalizing on timely hitting and defensive miscues.

On the mound, Tinsman earned the win, allowing just one unearned run over four and two-thirds innings while striking out five. The Raiders finished with 11 hits, with Brown and Tinsman each driving in four runs, while Gregg and Hughes added multiple hits.

The junior varsity Raiders kept the momentum going with a 15–6 win, using patience at the plate and aggressive base running to control the game.

After taking the lead in the third inning, Benjamin Logan pulled away with a six-run fifth inning, highlighted by a mix of hits, walks, and productive at-bats.

Green earned the win on the mound, striking out 10 over seven innings. Offensively, the Raiders drew 16 walks and stole an impressive 20 bases, consistently putting pressure on Shawnee’s defense.

Watkins led the team with three RBIs, while Clapsaddle added two hits. Multiple players contributed on the base paths, showcasing the team’s speed and depth.

The sweep highlights a strong overall effort from both squads as Benjamin Logan continues to build momentum this season.
