Raiders Split with Tecumseh: Varsity Powers Past Arrows, JV Falls After Early Lead

The Benjamin Logan High School baseball teams split their matchups with Tecumseh on Friday, as the varsity squad delivered a dominant win while the junior varsity team came up short after building an early lead.

The varsity Raiders rolled to a 13–3 victory, fueled by a standout performance from Brown, who drove in five runs on three hits. Brown delivered key hits throughout the game, including a bases-clearing double in the second inning and a two-run single during a big sixth inning rally.

Benjamin Logan broke the game open with seven runs in the sixth inning, capitalizing on timely hitting and an error to pull away.

On the mound, Gregg earned the win, allowing three runs (one earned) over four and one-third innings. Hawley added strong relief work with one and two-thirds scoreless innings.

Offensively, the Raiders totaled 13 hits, with multiple-hit performances from Morse, Spriggs, Tinsman, and Hughes in a balanced attack.

In the junior varsity game, the Raiders jumped out to an early lead but ultimately fell 9–6 after Tecumseh rallied late.

Benjamin Logan built a 6–0 advantage, highlighted by early RBI efforts from Newman, White, and Elsasser. However, Tecumseh turned the game around in the fifth inning, scoring six runs to take control.

Despite the loss, the Raiders showed patience at the plate with 12 walks and solid defense, committing no errors. Newman led the pitching effort with nine strikeouts over four innings.

The split results showcased both the offensive firepower of the varsity team and the competitive effort of the JV squad as the Raiders continue through the season.
