Lady Raiders Earn Runner-Up Finish at Bellefontaine 5-Team Meet

The Benjamin Logan High School girls track and field team turned in a strong overall performance Tuesday night, finishing second at the Bellefontaine 5-team meet with 112 points.

Competing in ideal spring conditions, the Lady Raiders showcased depth across both running and field events while using the meet as an opportunity to refine lineups ahead of postseason competition.

Leading the way were multiple first-place 

finishes. Madi Oakes claimed the high jump title (4-08), while Scarlett Elliott took first in pole vault (9-00). On the track, Lucy Wenger edged teammate Peyton Smith in a tightly contested 1600-meter race, finishing first in 5:59.55, with Smith close behind in second.

Benjamin Logan also delivered strong relay performances, including:

• 2nd place – 4x800 relay (A team)
• 2nd place – 4x200 relay (A team)
• 2nd place – 4x400 relay (B team)
• 3rd place finishes in multiple relay events

Individually, several athletes placed near the top of their events:

• Daylin Varner – 2nd in the 200, 4th in the 100, 4th in the 400
• Aleah France – 3rd in the 400
• Storm LeVan – 3rd in 300 hurdles, 3rd in long jump
• Elliott Butler – 3rd in the 800
• Kyla Godwin – 2nd in discus
• Kaylee Hays – 3rd in discus

Coaches noted the meet served as an important opportunity for athletes to try new events and continue developing ahead of conference and tournament competitions. Several close finishes, including the 1600 and 4x400 relays, highlighted the team’s competitive edge.
