Benjamin Logan’s Jerrik Stephens Commits to Ohio Northern University Football

Benjamin Logan High School senior Jerrik Stephens has officially announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic career at Ohio Northern University, where he will join the Polar Bears football program.

Jerrik, the son of Kurt and Stephanie Stephens, has been a key contributor to the Benjamin Logan football team throughout his high school career. After making his varsity debut on special teams as a freshman, Jerrik quickly developed a passion for the sport and set his sights on playing at the collegiate level.

Although he has not yet finalized his major, Jerrik is considering studies in either Marketing or Pediatrics. He cited Ohio Northern University’s strong academic reputation in both fields as a major factor in his decision, along with the university’s outstanding athletic facilities, impressive coaching staff, and the close-knit culture of the football program.

Before committing to ONU, Jerrik also considered opportunities at Capital University in Bexley, Ohio, and Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Reflecting on his goals, Jerrik said he hopes to graduate, excel in a meaningful career, and start a family. He believes his strengths in communication, sportsmanship, and teamwork will serve him well both on and off the field at Ohio Northern.

Looking ahead to his collegiate football career, Jerrik shared, “I want to excel at being a great football player and role player for the team. I want to do what is best for the team and play whatever position helps the team the most.”
