Bellefontaine Chieftains Fall to Oakwood in District Semifinals

The Bellefontaine Chieftains’ tournament run came to an end Wednesday night as they fell to the No. 2-seeded Oakwood Lumberjacks 62-52 in the district semifinals.

Bellefontaine led 45-40 heading into the final quarter, but Oakwood surged ahead with a dominant 22-7 fourth quarter to secure the win. The loss ends the Chieftains' season with a 10-14 record, while Oakwood advances with a 19-5 record.

Grayson Lotts led Bellefontaine with 17 points, while senior Jacob Salyer contributed 11. Jair Mundy added 9 points, and Braylon Newcomb chipped in 8 for the Chieftains.

Despite the tough loss, Bellefontaine showed resilience throughout the game, capping off a hard-fought season.
