BHS Hosts 21st Annual Summer Enrichment Academy for Area Students

Bellefontaine High School is once again buzzing with energy as it welcomes 293 students to the 21st annual Summer Enrichment Academy (SEA). This weeklong program, running June 9–13, brings together students entering grades 2–8 from Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, Riverside, West Liberty-Salem, Calvary Christian, and area homeschool programs.

The Bellefontaine City Schools Board of Education held its monthly meeting on Monday, June 3, spotlighting student achievement, approving staffing updates, and preparing for the upcoming school year.

A highlight of the meeting was the announcement of this year’s Board of Education Scholarship recipients.

Girl Scout Troop 2166 Partners with Benjamin Logan Schools for Summer Garden Project

Girl Scout Troop 2166 has joined forces with Benjamin Logan Schools this summer to support the district’s Growing Gardens, Growing Minds community garden project. With the support of Elementary Teacher Ryan Kerns, the troop—comprised of local elementary students—planted a variety of vegetables and flowers on their first evening in the garden.

Bellefontaine High School Announces 4th Quarter Honor Roll for 2024–2025

Bellefontaine High School has released its fourth quarter honor roll for the 2024–2025 school year, recognizing students for outstanding academic achievement.

The list includes students with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, with a special designation for those earning a 4.0 GPA or above. Students participating in off-campus College Credit Plus (CCP) courses are not included in this list.

Bellefontaine Student to Travel to Morocco to Participate in U.S. Department of State's National Security Language Initiative for Youth Program

Winifred Bodin of Bellefontaine, Ohio, will study Arabic this summer in Morocco on a National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI‑Y) scholarship. NSLI‑Y, a program of the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), promotes the study of Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Persian (Tajiki), Russian, or Turkish.

Winifred was one of 440 students selected from thousands of high school applicants across the United States to receive a NSLI‑Y scholarship. While in Morocco, Winifred will live with a host family, immerse in the local culture and host

BHS Class of 2025 Celebrates Achievements, Encouraged to Adapt and Serve

The Bellefontaine High School Class of 2025 celebrated a night of recognition and reflection during their commencement ceremony on Friday, May 30, at AcuSport Stadium. The evening marked a significant milestone for 209 graduates, who were honored for both academic and personal accomplishments.
