Stoner’s Ice Cream Parlor Named West Liberty’s Business of the Month

​A beloved local gem with a scoop of nostalgia and a whole lot of heart, Stoner’s Ice Cream Parlor has been named West Liberty’s Business of the Month. Located at 100 S. Detroit Street, this family-owned favorite has been serving up sweet memories for more than 50 years.

Originally opened in the early 1970s, the building that now houses Stoner’s has a colorful past—including time as a post office and Arctic Cat dealership. In 2018, Jeff and Kelli Stoner took

ownership, continuing a tradition of community and creamery that has become a cherished part of the village. Their daughter Shae, a student at The Ohio State University, is often seen helping behind the counter, embodying the hands-on, family-centered spirit that defines the business.

Stoner’s features over 40 flavors of Perry’s Ice Cream, a century-old brand out of New York. In fact, Stoner’s is proud to be the top seller of Perry’s hand-dipped ice cream in Ohio—a testament to their loyal fanbase and commitment to quality.

But the parlor is more than just a place for a cone—it’s a pillar of the community. Employing around 15 local high school students, the business offers teens valuable work experience and fosters strong local ties. The Stoner family is also active in the West Liberty Lions Club, West Liberty Business Association, and other county organizations.
