Splash Pad Coming to Russells Point: Community Effort Turns Vision into Reality

A long-awaited recreational feature is coming to Indian Lake, as the Indian Lake Area Chamber of Commerce has confirmed plans for a new splash pad at Municipal Park, 433 State Route 708 in Russells Point, with installation set for August 2025.

The splash pad will be the first of its kind in the village, offering a fun, water-based play area for local families and visitors. It represents years of vision, planning, and collaboration by community leaders and volunteers committed to enhancing recreational opportunities for children in the Indian Lake region.

Among those who helped lead the effort is local resident Joan Hinterschied, who played a key role in turning the concept into a reality. The Indian Lake Chamber has acknowledged the dedication of Hinterschied and others who contributed to the project’s development.

The new splash pad is expected to become a popular summer destination and a catalyst for future improvements at the park and in the surrounding area.

Additional details, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony and public opening date, will be announced in the coming weeks.
