Solvita Bellefontaine Hickory Medical Aug. 27 Blood Drive

Solvita Blood Center needs the immediate assistance of donors of all blood types to keep all local hospitals in sufficient supply. The Labor Day holiday weekend is a critical period with fewer blood drives and high usage. Support patients in need by donating at the Hickory Medical            community blood drive Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at 1125 Rush Ave., Bellefontaine.

August is the final month for all registered donors to receive the Solvita “From One to Many” beach towel and be automatically entered in the drawing for two tickets to Taylor Swift's Nov. 3 show at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Beginning Aug. 30 and continuing through Sept. 28, everyone who registers to donate with Solvita will be entered in a new drawing to win two tickets to the Ohio State vs. Michigan game Nov. 30 in Columbus.

Blood donation requirements:  Donors are required to provide a photo ID that includes their full name.  Past Solvita donors are also asked to bring their Solvita donor ID card.  Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with parental consent: form available at www.solvita.org or at the Dayton Donation Center and mobile blood drive locations), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds (you may have to weigh more depending on your height), and be in good physical health.  The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) changes blood donor eligibility guidelines periodically.  Individuals with eligibility questions can email [email protected] or call (937) 461-3220.
