Sawdust and Bluegrass to Bring Classic Fun to West Liberty on May 31

Step back in time and enjoy a day of traditional fun at Lion’s Park in West Liberty during the upcoming Sawdust and Bluegrass celebration on Saturday, May 31.

The day kicks off at 8:00 AM with live sawing demonstrations at the sawmill on the southwest side of the park, running continuously until 4:30 PM. Starting at 9:00 AM, the West Liberty Lions Club and Charlie Jones will host an NHPA-sanctioned horseshoe tournament beside the sawmill.

At noon, all are invited to gather around the sawmill for a carry-in lunch. Bring a dish, a 

chair, and your best stories to share during this community-style picnic.

The fun continues into the evening with a live performance by the Muleskinners Band at 5:00 PM, performing on the stage near the main shelter house at the north end of the park.

While the music plays, enjoy the first West Liberty Lions Fish Fry of the season from 5:00–7:00 PM in the main shelterhouse. Meals are available for $15 per adult.

From music and food to games and sawdust, this event promises an enjoyable day for all ages.
