Russells Point Reminds Residents of Fireworks Ban for Independence Day Celebrations

As Independence Day nears, the Village of Russells Point reminds residents that the new "Fireworks Bill" passed by Governor DeWine does not apply within the village limits. Local Ordinance 1519.05 still bans the discharge, ignition, or explosion of any fireworks in the municipality. This rule, backed by Ohio law (RC 3743.45(D)), aims to prevent accidents and property damage.

​In the past, fireworks misuse has led to burnt siding, roofing, damaged vehicles, and even a porch fire. 

Residents wishing to use fireworks must do so outside village limits where state laws apply. Follow safety guidelines, check for required permits, use designated areas, and always have adult supervision.
