Bellefontaine High School juniors and seniors had the opportunity to hear firsthand about careers in real estate during this week’s 3E Speaker Series, featuring Royer Realty Broker/Owner Bryn Daring-Stewart.

Daring-Stewart spoke with students about the benefits of pursuing a career in real estate, highlighting the flexibility the profession offers, including the ability to set one’s own schedule and determine income potential. She also shared some of the challenges associated with the field, such as market fluctuations and industry competition.

Clark State’s Innovative Diesel Lab Trains High-demand Technicians

At Clark State College, students training to become diesel technicians are getting a hands-on experience like never before. At the Bellefontaine campus, newly upgraded labs provide the opportunity for students to work directly on trucks, from a Volvo semi to a fire engine, using the latest industry tools and equipment.

This lab is more than just a classroom—it’s part of a partnership with Ohio Hi-Point Career Center that helps students move smoothly from high school to college while linking them with local employers who are eager for skilled technicians. The result is a program that prepares graduates for real-world jobs in trucking, agriculture and construction, right where the demand is growing fastest.

BCS Board Appoints Wilson and Garver to Vacant Positions

Bellefontaine City Schools held a special board meeting Wednesday afternoon at the district office, appointing two individuals to fill recently vacated board positions.

The Board of Education appointed Karen Wilson to complete the remaining term of former board member Rick Reed, who resigned January 28 after being named Superintendent of the Bellefontaine Joint Recreation District.

Wilson received the next highest number of votes in the November 2025 Board of Education election, and board officials noted that her appointment reflects the will of local voters. Her unexpired term will run through December 2027.

Logan County Education Foundation Dedicated Grant Sponsored by the Jones Family Supports Innovative Math Instruction

Students in Lori Weyant’s classroom at Benjamin Logan Middle School are strengthening their understanding of mathematics through hands-on learning experiences made possible by a Logan County Education Foundation (LCEF) Dedicated Grant, sponsored by the Jones Family.

The grant funded instructional materials are designed to help students connect geometric models with algebraic reasoning.

Bellefontaine's Drey Carter Advances to the Bevo Francis Award Top 50 List

Small College Basketball and the National Awards Committee announced the Bevo Francis Top 50 Watch List for the 2025–26 season. Fairmont State men's basketball student-athlete, Drey Carter was named to the watch list.

Carter, a redshirt junior, is a native of Bellefontaine, Ohio. Carter joined Fairmont State University this season after transferring from Wright State University.

BHS Welcomes 2026 Class into Athletic Hall of Fame

The 2026 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees include: Mark Brunswick (Coach), MacKenzie Brunswick Crabtree, Jazmyn Haley, Nate Orndorf, Mac Otten (accepted by Mac Otten Jr. on behalf of his late father), Zach Vermillion, and Brad Winter.

Bellefontaine High School celebrated its newest Athletic Hall of Fame class Friday night, honoring seven individuals and two award recipients for their lasting impact on Chieftain athletics.

The induction ceremony took place between the JV and varsity boys basketball games, allowing fans and families to recognize the achievements and contributions of this year’s honorees.

Benjamin Logan Students Earn Top Marks at OMEA Solo & Ensemble

Instrumental music students from Benjamin Logan High School continued their tradition of musical excellence this weekend at the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Solo & Ensemble Adjudicated Events.

Benjamin Logan musicians delivered a strong showing, earning 14 Superior ratings (1s) and four Excellent ratings (2s) across their performances.
