Officer Trent Davis Honored as Champaign County Small Department CIT Officer of the Year

Officer Trent Davis of the North Lewisburg Police Department was recognized as the Champaign County Small Department CIT Officer of the Year on Tuesday, February 11th. The award was presented by Sarah Ferguson, Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Coordinator for Logan & Champaign Counties, during the North Lewisburg Village Council meeting.

The CIT program is a collaborative initiative that brings together law enforcement, mental health professionals, advocates, and community members to improve responses to individuals experiencing mental health crises. Officer Davis was honored for his outstanding

dedication to connecting individuals in crisis with essential resources.

In addition to completing the highest number of mental health referrals among Champaign County’s small departments, Officer Davis provided detailed incident reports and critical contact information, ensuring better access to care for North Lewisburg residents.
