Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services Board Mini-Grant Announcement of Funding Availability

Mini-Grants have been established to provide a limited amount of one-time-only funds for small projects that provide creative and innovative opportunities that improve and build upon positive mental health and/provide alternatives to substance abuse.

Applicants

1. Applicants must be an organized group from Logan and/or Champaign Counties with an annual budget under $250,000 and can give evidence of such; and who has the financial capability to account for the funds awarded.
2. Applicants may not have an annual budget of more than 50% State and/or Federal funds.
3. Potential Applicants: classrooms; church groups; small organizations serving youth and/or adults; probation departments; theaters; art groups; musical groups; PTA, PTUs, PTOs; community/neighborhood groups; libraries; community service groups; small businesses; recreational groups; others.
4. Applicants may not have received a Mini-Grant for the same project from the MHDAS Board in previous years. The same program offered at a different site does not qualify. Any group that re-applies must specifically state how their program for the proposed project is different from the prior year.
5. All projects must hold activities between November 2024 and June 30, 2025.

Application Deadline: October 31,2024

1. A completed (typed or computer-generated) application using the MHDAS Board Guidelines & Mini-Grant Application Packet must be received or postmarked by Thursday, October 31, 2024.
2. The application must specifically state how the project will improve and/or build upon positive mental health and/or provide alternatives to substance abuse by addressing at least one asset category or one of the 40 Developmental Assets.
3. Up to a total of $24,000.00 is available for the award this fiscal year. It is expected several groups in each county will receive Grant funding. Partial awards may be made.
