Logan County Kicks Off Tourism Week with a Week of Exciting Events and Discounts

Logan County is gearing up for a week-long celebration of local tourism, set to take place from August 2 to August 10, 2024. The Logan County Visitors Bureau has planned an array of activities and attractions aimed at showcasing the best the county has to offer.

"We are so excited to celebrate tourism in Logan County! We have an entire week of fun planned all around Logan County," said a representative from the Visitors Bureau. Special passports with coupons will soon be available at the attractions listed and the Logan County Visitors Bureau, located at 100 S. Main, Bellefontaine.

​The festivities will kick off on Friday, August 2, with the unveiling of a new cornhole board at Russells Point Municipal Park at noon. Later that evening, from 5 to 8 PM, visitors can enjoy the First Fridays Taste of Bellefontaine, with tickets available at ffbellefontaine.com.

Saturday, August 3, promises a mix of music and family fun with the "Rock the Lake" concert by RISE FM at Old Field Beach in Lakeview starting at 5:30 PM. Earlier in the day, from 10 AM to 5 PM, Marmon Valley Farm in Zanesfield will offer $3 putt-putt and animal feeding, with pony rides available by reservation.

Sunday, August 4, will be a day to explore local culinary delights with stops on the Logan County Pizza Trail and Ice Cream Trail.

Monday, August 5, features a FREE Nature Discovery Day at the Indian Lake State Park Nature Center from 4 to 6 PM, and free putt-putt at The Root Beer Stand in Russells Point.

On Tuesday, August 6, visitors can enjoy a FREE historic boat tour with Spend-A-Day Marina in Russells Point from 9 AM to 12 PM. Coupons for a free donut at The Donut 

Shop in Russells Point are also available.

Wednesday, August 7, will see the Logan County History Center opening its doors for free admission and a scavenger hunt from 12 to 4 PM. Visitors can explore all three museums on site. Additionally, City Sweets and Creamery in Bellefontaine will offer a free buttercream iced sugar cookie with a coupon.

The excitement continues on Thursday, August 8, with free gem mining at Ohio Caverns in West Liberty from 9 AM to 5 PM. Visitors can also enjoy discounted tours at Piatt Castle Mac-A-Cheek and free kids' dip at Stoner's Ice Cream Parlor, along with a free treat from Marie's Candies.

​Friday, August 9, features the unveiling of Umbrella Avenue at Rainbow Row in Bellefontaine from 3 to 5 PM, followed by an open house.

The week wraps up on Saturday, August 10, with Wacky Boat Races at Lakeview Harbor from 8:30 AM to 12 PM, a behind-the-scenes tour of the Holland Theatre in Bellefontaine from 6 to 8 PM, and the Hot Summer Nights Cruise-In downtown from 5 to 9 PM.

Throughout the week, visitors can enjoy free admission to the Indian Lake Tiny Museum and $10 drop-in archery lessons at Indian Lake Outfitters.
