Logan County Health District Hosts Parent's Night to Empower Families on Teen Substance Use Prevention

Parents and caregivers are invited to an engaging and educational evening at the Logan County Health District for Parent's Night, scheduled for Friday, March 28, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. This event aims to empower parents to positively influence their teens' choices regarding alcohol and drug use before social media makes the first impression.

The evening promises a combination of education, interaction, and delicious barbecue from the Where There’s Smoke food truck. One of the event highlights is the "Hidden in Plain Sight" parent education simulation, conducted in

partnership with Pickaway County Public Health, which provides insights into how teens might hide signs of risky behaviors.

Additionally, attendees will watch "Screenagers: Under the Influence", a documentary exploring how social media affects teens' perceptions and behaviors surrounding substance use and alcohol.

"Parents play a crucial role in shaping their teen’s decisions," said event organizers. "This event offers resources and tools for parents to have meaningful conversations with their children about these important topics."
