In response to the recent winter storm, Universal Home Health & Hospice Care made a generous donation of paper products, gloves, and coffee to the Logan County Emergency Warmth Shelter. This shelter, hosted by Recovery Zone and the First Church of God in Bellefontaine, provides a crucial refuge for residents during extreme weather conditions
As temperatures continue to drop, Logan County has activated its Emergency Warming Shelter (EWS) to provide a safe place for those in need. The shelter is located at the Bellefontaine First Church of God, Youth Entrance (lower level), and is open when temperatures fall below 20 degrees. The Logan County Housing Innovations Team, a subcommittee of the Logan County Housing Coalition, oversees the shelter with Recovery Zone serving as the coordinating and fiscal agency.

The shelter operates under specific guidelines to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests. Check-in is between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., with no entry allowed after this time except in emergencies or with pre-approved exceptions. Guests must leave by 6:00 a.m. on weekdays and by 8:00 a.m. on weekends. Respectful behavior is expected at all times, and there is a zero-tolerance policy for violence or substance abuse.

For more information or to inquire about the shelter, contact Recovery Zone at (937) 210-9003. Volunteers are also needed, particularly for overnight shifts. Those interested in helping can reach out to Recovery Zone for more details.

As the community continues to navigate the challenges of winter, the collaboration between local organizations highlights the importance of unity and mutual support. The Logan County Emergency Warmth Shelter remains a beacon of hope for those facing adversity during the cold season.
