The 16th annual Homecoming Parade will commence at 6:30 PM on Thursday, September 26th, traveling through downtown Russells Point. The parade will feature an array of vibrant floats from student-athletes, the band, local law enforcement, and various school organizations. Spectators can look forward to participants handing out candy and small gifts along the route. Local businesses are encouraged to join in the festivities by decorating their storefronts. The ILHS Student Council and Football Cheerleaders will be awarding prizes for the "Best Spirit." This year’s parade theme, “Laker Strong—Power Over the Falcons!” will showcase superhero-themed floats. After the parade, Gathering Grounds will host a Pep Rally to build excitement for Friday’s game against Graham. The rally will include introductions of the Homecoming Court, coaches, and fall sports teams by the cheerleaders and Student Council representatives. In preparation for the parade, Russells Point Police will be closing the west end of Main Street at 5 PM. Parade participants are asked to approach the staging area via Township Road 239 at Midway. Student drop-off points will be available at the bike path pull-off at Twp. Rd. 239 or at Paradise Island, located opposite Indian Head Roadhouse. The Homecoming Game will take place on Friday, September 27th, at 7 PM at Laker Stadium. Festivities will begin at 6:20 PM with a parade of cars and the introduction of the Homecoming Court. The celebration concludes with the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, September 28th, from 8-10 PM under the bleachers at Laker Stadium.
