The historic season continues for Bellefontaine girls tennis standouts Mia Brown and Rylee Crabtree. The freshman doubles team breezed through the sectional tournament in Troy on Monday to advance to the district tournament. The last time the Lady Chiefs advanced players to the district tournament was in 1993 when Emily Ellis and Molli Munz finished in 3rd place at the sectional level. Brown and Crabtree handled their first match 6-0, 6-0 vs. Northwestern.
The duo then swept the doubles team from Milton-Union 6-0, 6-4 to improve to 17-0. Brown and Crabtree will play in the district semifinals on Friday to determine seeding. The girls will then compete in the district tournament at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason on October 9th. James Howell is the BHS girls tennis coach.
