Name: Hunter Kerns
Parents: Tim and Beth Kerns Address: Bellefontaine School activities and awards: President of BHS National Honor Society, Field Commander of Bellefontaine Marching Band, Dance Captain of Les Fons Show Choir, Section Leader of Choir, Multiple Heart of a Chieftain Awards, and Musical Award my sophomore year. If I were principal for a day: I would close the school for a day and turn the high school into a massive ball pit. Favorite school memory: Getting to perform in the school musical each year. People who have been an inspiration to me: My parents for showing me so much support and encouraging me to do my best. They have always been there for me and made me into who I am today. Lately, I’ve been reading: I haven’t been reading as much, but I have been watching La La Land. My advice to parents: Always try and encourage your children to be different and stick out in their own ways. Let them be themselves and to be proud of who they are. Let them dream big and have fun, and encourage them to try new things and participate. My biggest regret: I never let myself have fun because I was so focused on what other people thought of me. I got caught up in trying to be someone I’m not instead of being myself. I did eventually find out that others’ opinions should not matter as everyone will always judge you. You cannot stop that, but you can let it not bother you. Next year: I will be attending an undecided college to get my bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. YOU Matter. Call or Text 988.
