Free “Responding to Addiction” Workshops Coming to West Liberty in May and June

 Community members across Logan and Champaign Counties have an opportunity to gain valuable tools and insight through the free Responding to Addiction Workshops, offered this spring in West Liberty.

These free, 3-hour workshops are provided by the Mental Health, Drug, and Alcohol Services Board of Logan and Champaign Counties with support from State Opiate and Stimulus Response Grants. The program was developed by the Addiction Policy Forum and is designed to increase understanding of addiction, reduce stigma, and improve community response to substance use disorders.

Program Impact
The University of Delaware evaluated the Responding to Addiction curriculum and found:

• Knowledge about addiction increased across all participants
• Stigma decreased, especially for those with less prior knowledge
• Confidence grew in helping individuals navigate recovery and treatment
