Costin Family Practice Moves and Upgrades Location After 88 Years in Historic Swan Building

​After 88 years of serving the Bellefontaine community from the historic Swan Building, Costin Family Practice has moved to a new and upgraded location at 921 E. Sandusky Ave. The move marks a significant milestone for the practice, which has been a cornerstone of local healthcare since 1937.

​The decision to move from the Swan Building was driven by the need for more space and modern facilities. "After many years of being at the Swan Building, we were starting to outgrow the office," the practice explained. The new location offers larger exam rooms, a more spacious waiting area, improved parking, and updated technology, all designed to enhance patient care and comfort.

Relocating after so many decades presented both challenges and opportunities. Staff had to adapt to new workflows and processes, but this also provided a chance to improve patient care and maximize the skills of the team. The transition has been a learning experience, but one that ultimately benefits both the practice and its patients.

Costin Family Practice has a storied history, beginning with Dr. James Costin in 1937. Over the years, the practice has evolved significantly, moving from paper charts to electronic medical records and expanding its services. As they settle into their new location, the practice has ambitious goals for the future. The Costin family has always been deeply involved in the local community. Dr. Scott Costin continues to serve as the team physician for Bellefontaine High School Football and both physicians donate their time to provide sports physicals for students. The practice also supports local schools, including Bellefontaine City Schools and Calvary Christian Schools.

As they make this transition, the practice wants to reassure their long-time patients that their dedication to excellent care remains unchanged.
