Benjamin Logan Environmental Science Club Engages in Campus Clean-Up and Environmental Education10/29/2024
During the event, students not only removed litter from the school campus but also engaged in an educational program focused on invasive plant species. Led by club advisors, students learned about Bush Honeysuckle, a non-native plant that has established itself in the school's Land Lab area. The group actively contributed by cutting and treating the Honeysuckle and building wildlife brush piles. Additionally, students took time to trim and care for the White Oak trees planted on the school grounds over 25 years ago.
"Connecting with our environment is the name of the game," said Bruce Smith, one of the club advisors. This hands-on experience reflects the club’s commitment to instilling environmental awareness and responsibility among its members.
