“Logan County has something special,” said Vollrath. “The people here truly care for one another, and the ability to have meaningful conversations and form lasting friendships is something I’ve never experienced anywhere else. This community thrives on collaboration, and I’m excited to continue driving us forward together.” As a husband and father of three, Vollrath is particularly invested in ensuring a bright future for Logan County’s youth. He has been instrumental in the development of the 3E Initiative, a program encouraging high school students to graduate with a plan to be either enrolled in post-secondary education, employed locally, or enlisted in the military. Vollrath believes this initiative is crucial in empowering the next generation to contribute to the community. “Each of those E’s—Enrollment, Employment, Enlistment—is equally valued in Logan County,” he explained. “This provides students with a clear path to their future in a community where they can truly make a difference.” “United Way is unique in its ability to see the big picture and bring people together,” Vollrath said. “By pooling our resources, United Way ensures they are used where they can have the greatest impact. This organization does an amazing job of coordinating charitable giving and service under one roof.”
The 2024 campaign will kick off on Friday, August 23, with the ninth annual Community Care Day. Over 440 volunteers from 50 local workplaces will participate in service projects across the county. The campaign aims to raise $1 million by the end of the year, marking the seventh consecutive year of achieving this goal. “Giving to United Way is more than just checking a box,” Vollrath emphasized. “It’s about making a real difference. Logan County has significant needs, whether for education, financial assistance, or housing stability. Every dollar given to United Way is a dollar that changes someone’s life.” With Vollrath at the helm, the 2024 United Way Campaign is set to make a lasting impact on Logan County, continuing the tradition of community support and service that defines the area.
