Bellefontaine’s “Team Wilson” Wins Regional Stock Market Challenge, Advances to Nationals

Bellefontaine High School students Jack Wilson, CJ Butler, and Cayleb Overmann—collectively known as “Team Wilson”—have claimed first place in the inaugural JA Mad River Region Stock Market Challenge.

The trio competed against eight teams from area high schools, demonstrating their knowledge of economics, investment strategy, and financial decision-making in a fast-paced, simulated trading environment.

As regional champions, Team Wilson will now represent the Mad River Region at the national Junior Achievement (JA) Future Bound competition in Atlanta this June. There, they will face top-performing student teams from across the country.

Hosted by Junior Achievement, the Stock Market Challenge gives students the opportunity to experience the dynamic nature of financial markets while applying real-world skills in teamwork, critical thinking, and strategy.
