Bellefontaine City Schools Celebrates Student Talent at Annual Spring Choir Concert

Bellefontaine City Schools hosted its annual Spring Choir Concert on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in the Bellefontaine High School Auditorium, showcasing the vocal talents of students in grades 6 through 12. The event featured performances by the 6th Grade Choir, 7th Grade Choir, 8th Grade Choir, BHS Concert Choir, and the BHS Symphonic Choir.

Led by BCS Choir Director Brice Henry, the concert highlighted the students' growth and musical achievements throughout the year. A total of 158 choir members performed, and several students received special recognition for their dedication and musical excellence.

Choir Award Winners:6th Grade Choir

• Most Improved: Karly Holtkamp, Natalee Kuhns
• Outstanding Musician: Cardyn Rawlins, Naomi Dearwester

7th Grade Choir

• Most Improved: Fred Holency, Ellie Irick
• Outstanding Musician: Caleb Hudson, Elsie Welch

8th Grade Choir

• Most Improved: Monroe Benoit, Addi Smith
• Outstanding Musician: Diana Martinez, Boston Coons
• Choir Award: Blakely Vollrath

BHS Concert Choir

• Most Improved: Ariane Moser, Zoey Mitchell, Amanda Delgado, Sarah Morris
• Outstanding Musician: Haileigh Hoffman, Gina Sandoval, Alvaro Cerda, Shelby Hoffman

BHS Symphonic Choir

• Most Improved: Emma Ganson, Bryson Chrisman, Haidyn Bruce, Jayden Sims
• Outstanding Musician: Sloan Stolly, Jake Moreland, Ava Kunze, Ryan Alexander

Special Awards

• Director Award: Lilly Hudson, Hunter Kerns
• National Choral Award: Blaine Mitchell

The district also recognized its senior choir members, including:
Ryan Alexander, Brody Boy, Alex Cavanaugh, Sophia Garrett, Lilly Hudson, Shelby Hoffman, Hunter Kerns, Blaine Mitchell, Sarah Morris, Alex Priest, Nathan Shultz, and Jayden Sims.

The BHS Symphonic Choir, which recently earned a Superior rating at the OMEA District Contest, will perform at the OMEA State Contest on Friday, April 25 at 7:50 p.m. at Lakota East High School.

The BMS and BHS choirs will also be featured during the upcoming Fine Arts Festival at BHS on May 14.
