Board Appreciation and Student Opportunities Superintendent Brad Hall thanked board members for their service as part of Board Appreciation. Bellefontaine High School business teacher Yvette Hunsicker presented a proposed Junior Achievement trip to Boston. Last spring, BHS students swept the top three spots in the Mad River Region JA Stock Market Challenge, with the first-place team advancing to a national event in Atlanta. The board will consider the Boston trip at a future meeting. Mid-Year Goals Reviewed Superintendent Hall outlined mid-year goals focused on academics, culture, and infrastructure. Academic priorities include behavior leadership training, Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and i-Ready instruction. Culture goals emphasize highlighting student and staff success stories, while infrastructure planning centers on long-term district growth. Treasurer Josh Wasson presented financial goals centered on maintaining stability, improving efficiency, strengthening communication, and keeping the board informed on school finance legislation. Personnel and Board Actions The board accepted the resignation of member Rick Reed, who recently became Bellefontaine Parks and Recreation superintendent. Reed stepped down to avoid potential conflicts of interest. Other personnel actions included accepting resignations from a school psychologist and a kindergarten teacher, approving stipends for behavior leadership coaching funded by a Title IV grant, and hiring several substitutes, tutors, and support staff.
