The Inspire V™ System features an integrated respiratory sensor, eliminating the need for physicians to place a separate sensing lead. This innovation enables respiratory sensing directly within the implant, resulting in a more streamlined, efficient procedure.
How It Works: The Inspire procedure involves two small incisions—one in the upper chest to place the implant and breathing sensors, and another under the chin to access the nerve that controls the airway muscles, including the tongue. When the device is activated during sleep, it gently stimulates the nerve, keeping the airway open and preventing obstruction. “This innovative therapy is a fantastic alternative for patients who find traditional CPAP machines uncomfortable or intolerable,” said Dr. Tennyson. “Inspire Therapy has been proven to significantly reduce sleep apnea events and is associated with very high patient satisfaction. We’re thrilled to bring this breakthrough therapy to our patients and continue advancing sleep medicine in our community.” Life-Changing Results for Patients For many, Inspire Therapy has made a dramatic difference in sleep quality and overall well-being. “One of the best decisions I have ever made. I sleep very well, and I don’t need to worry about hoses or cleaning the CPAP accessories,” said Kevin M., Inspire patient.
