BHS Set to Celebrate Homecoming

Bellefontaine High School will celebrate homecoming this weekend.

The homecoming parade will be Thursday evening.

The parade will begin at 6:30 at the intersection of Main Street and Chillicothe Avenue. It will proceed south and turn left onto Washington Avenue, then turn right onto Harding Street and head into AcuSport Stadium.

Adriel, a faith-based nonprofit serving children, young adults, and families in foster care for more than 128 years, will celebrate the opening of its new Bellefontaine location with an Open House and Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, October 9, from 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. at 1600 S. Main Street, Bellefontaine, OH 43311.  The official ribbon cutting will take place at 12:00 p.m. (noon).

The River to Host 7th Annual Pastor Appreciation Golf Classic

Pastors and church staff across Central Ohio are invited to a day of encouragement, fellowship, and fun at The River’s 7th Annual Pastor Appreciation Golf Classic, presented by Elevated Integrity Construction and Cruikshank Plumbing.

The event takes place on Tuesday, September 30 at Harbor Hills Country Club, 225 Freeman Memorial Drive, Hebron. Registration opens at 8:45 a.m., with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.

F​our outstanding Indian Lake High School seniors were recently recognized as part of the Bellefontaine Kiwanis Club’s Senior of the Month program. The recognition highlights the achievements and character of local students across Logan County.

For the month of August, the honorees were Avery Pequignot and Kora Fulkerson. In September, the spotlight turned to Evie Wagner and Cooper Hall. Each of these students was celebrated earlier this week at a Kiwanis meeting and luncheon, where they were introduced to community leaders and applauded for their accomplishments.

The Rotary Club of Bellefontaine invites the community to enjoy a morning of food, fun, and fellowship at the annual All-You-Can-Eat Scholarship Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 7:30–11:30 a.m. at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center.

Guests can indulge in a delicious spread of buttermilk and pumpkin pancakes, sausage, orange juice, milk, and coffee — with a special treat of a la carte fresh eggs cooked to order by Ohio Hi-Point culinary students.

Indian Lake Golf Team Competes in CBC Meet

The IL Boys Golf Team competed in the CBC meet Tuesday afternoon. They ended with a score of 347 and finished 4th in the Mad River for the season. The Lakers were led by Jaxon Snipes with an 84. Cooper Hall shot an 86. Crew McPherson had an 88. Joe Cummins shot an 89. Kade Richardson had a 94 and Matthew Culp shot a 113.

The Lakers also had several individual awards earned at the meet. Cooper Hall, Joe Cummins, Jaxon Snipes and Crew McPherson all earned 2nd Team All Conference. Crew McPherson also took home the Sportsmanship Award.

IL will next compete September 23rd at Windy Knoll in the Sectional Tournament.

Lady Laker Golf team Continues Successful Season

The Lady Laker Golf Team put an exclamation mark on one of the program's most successful seasons ever at Tuesday's CBC Tournament at Locust Hill in Springfield! The Lakers finished the season as Mad River Division Runners Up!

Alex Kinney was named 1st Team All CBC after shooting a 92. Tayler Klofta (95), Lily Michael (109) and Adriana Andrus (105) each made 2nd Team All CBC. Finally, Chloe Borgerding (111) earned the Sportsmanship Award.

The Lady Laker golfers will compete in the Sectional Tournament next Wednesday at Stillwater Valley Golf Course in Versailles. They are coached by Todd Inskeep.
