More than 50 members of the Indian Lake High School Class of 2026 came together recently for a sweet and symbolic start to their senior year.
The group gathered at Laker Stadium for a Senior Sunrise, a tradition where classmates bring blankets and chairs to watch the sun rise on their final year of high school. The seniors enjoyed donuts, shared laughs, and reflected on favorite memories as they marked the beginning of the 2025–26 school year. This moment of unity and celebration set the tone for what promises to be a memorable senior year.
This morning, members of the Class of 2026 gathered on the field to watch the sunrise and kick off their senior year together. With about 140 students in the senior class, this tradition is a special way to mark the beginning of their final year at Benjamin Logan. 💛🖤 Bellefontaine City Schools is proud to introduce its newest educators.
The new staff members went through two days of orientation this week. The first day of classes at BCS will be Wednesday, September 3rd (grades 1-9). Since 1992, Mary Rutan Foundation has awarded nearly $2.6 million to local scholars. These funds have supported the education of over 1,200 current and future healthcare workers.
Mary Rutan Foundation Chief Operating Officer Tammy Gump said, “The generous donors that have supported Mary Rutan Foundation’s scholarship program make it possible to award scholarships to all local students that meet the eligibility requirements as well as provide scholarships to the students for multiple years during their programs of study. We are very pleased with the increase in the number of applications we received this year and the various programs they chose to pursue.
From live music and delicious food to family-friendly fun and festive tailgate vibes, this event has something for everyone. Local restaurants and shops will also join the celebration with special deals and unique ways to make the weekend even more memorable.
One of the highlights will be the Community Pep Rally on Saturday, when the town comes together to cheer, celebrate, and show off school spirit like never before.
Youth Mental Health and Youth Healthy Living Focus of Mary Rutan Foundation Wellness Grant Program8/20/2025
Mental health continues to be identified as one of the highest priorities in Logan County in periodic Community Health Assessments. Additionally, the majority of respondents of the survey named obesity and healthy lifestyle choices as a moderate or very serious issue.
The Bellefontaine Shade Tree Commission honored the winner of its first Neighborhood Beautification Program with an engraved garden stone and yard sign.
The Neighborhood Beautification Program recognizes residents who contribute to the beauty of Bellefontaine by taking pride in the landscaping of their yards. For the inaugural award shade tree committee members nominated different residences for the award and the group voted after reviewing pictures of the nominated residences. The winners of the Inaugural Neighborhood Beautification Award are Jack, Karen and Lora Beair of 228 N. Park Street. |
