Universal Home Health & Hospice had the privilege of attending the Logan County Veterans Luncheon, a heartfelt event dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifices of local veterans. The luncheon provided a unique opportunity for Universal's Community Business Liaison to engage with veterans and their families, listening to their stories and sharing in their experiences.

"Our participation in the Logan County Veterans Luncheon was a true honor," said the liaison. "Meeting veterans and their families one-on-one was an incredibly humbling experience. It was a privilege to hear their stories—many of which were filled with both joy and sorrow."

As Independence Day nears, the Village of Russells Point reminds residents that the new "Fireworks Bill" passed by Governor DeWine does not apply within the village limits. Local Ordinance 1519.05 still bans the discharge, ignition, or explosion of any fireworks in the municipality. This rule, backed by Ohio law (RC 3743.45(D)), aims to prevent accidents and property damage.

Join the WISE Wellness Initiative for Senior Education: Free Six-Session Program Starting August 1st

The Logan County Friendly Senior Center is excited to announce the upcoming WISE (Wellness Initiative for Senior Education) program. This free six-session wellness program is tailored for individuals aged 55 and over, focusing on healthy aging, lifestyle choices, and substance abuse prevention.

Participants will learn about the changes associated with aging, develop aging sensitivity, value cultural and generational diversity, and manage medications effectively. The program also addresses substance abuse and addiction in older
adults, providing strategies for prevention and support. Attendees will discover ways to enhance their quality of life through healthy lifestyle choices.

Participants will receive two $25 gift cards and be provided with a lunch during each session.
