Benjamin Logan Students Earn Top Marks at OMEA Solo & Ensemble

Instrumental music students from Benjamin Logan High School continued their tradition of musical excellence this weekend at the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Solo & Ensemble Adjudicated Events.

Benjamin Logan musicians delivered a strong showing, earning 14 Superior ratings (1s) and four Excellent ratings (2s) across their performances.

BCS Board Hears Positive Results from Classroom Behavior Leadership Program

Longtime BMS teacher Sandi Chervenak, joined by several colleagues, spoke about the new Behavior Leadership program’s impact in the classroom.

The Bellefontaine City Schools Board of Education received an encouraging update Monday night on the district’s classroom behavior leadership program during its monthly meeting in the Bellefontaine High School Sloan Distance Learning Center.

Launched districtwide in late August, the program is already showing measurable results. Bellefontaine Middle School Assistant Principal Matt Comstock shared data indicating that major discipline referrals in the 2025–26 school year are significantly lower than last year.

Longtime BMS teacher Sandi Chervenak, joined by several colleagues, spoke about the program’s impact in the classroom.

Tickets for BHS Musical go on Sale this Week

Bellefontaine High School is preparing to take the stage for its annual spring musical, bringing the hit show Mamma Mia! to the high school auditorium later this month.

Performances are scheduled for February 27 and 28 at 7:00 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. each night. All seats are reserved, and patrons will select their seats at the time of purchase.

Mary Rutan Foundation Healthcare Scholarship and Loan Program Underway

Mary Rutan Foundation is pleased to offer Logan County students an opportunity to apply for healthcare career scholarships and medical school loans for the 2026/2027 academic school year.

Since 1992, over $2.6 million has been awarded to Logan County residents pursuing a degree in the medical field as an investment in the community and in the future of healthcare.

Village of Huntsville Annual Financial Report Available for Public Review

The Village of Huntsville has announced that its annual financial report is complete and available for public review.

Residents may view the report at the Huntsville Municipal Building, located at 6740 Wishart Street. To schedule an appointment, community members can call (937) 686-4300 or email [email protected].

Village officials also remind residents that council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building. These meetings are open to the public.

Benjamin Logan High School Students Excel at Local Science Day

Benjamin Logan High School hosted its annual Local Science Day on February 3, 2026, showcasing 18 student-led research projects. By the conclusion of the event, 10 projects earned the prestigious “Superior” rating, qualifying those students to compete at the Regional Science Day held at Ohio Northern University on March 21, 2026.

The Benjamin Logan Board of Education is inviting community members to share input as part of the search for the district’s next superintendent.

The anonymous survey is designed to gather feedback on leadership qualities, priorities, and challenges the Board should consider as it selects the next district leader. All responses will be reviewed by the Board of Education and will help guide the decision-making process.
