​On Monday, April 13, 2026, the Ohio Educational Service Center Association (OESCA) will recognize Ohio’s top students in each of the 88 counties statewide during the 37th annual Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Awards Program held at the Ohioan Hotel & Event Center in Lewis Center, Ohio.

Nominated by one of the 51 educational service centers (ESCs), eligible applicants are high school seniors that demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and community service as indicated by high school grades, test scores, school and community activities, and awards.

​Historical Marker Dedication to Honor Indian Lake’s Past on May 4

Indian Lake Historical Marker Dedication May 4
Community members are invited to take part in a special event recognizing the rich history of Indian Lake as the Ohio Department of Natural Resources hosts a historical marker dedication ceremony on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
​

The event will take place at Indian Lake State Park, specifically at Paradise Island (10162 State Route 366, Lakeview).
The ceremony will commemorate the Lewistown Reserve and Lewistown Reservoir, the historic foundations of what is now known as Indian Lake. Attendees will hear from local historians and experts who will share insights into the area’s past and its significance to the region.

A highlight of the event will be the official unveiling of a new historical marker, providing a lasting tribute to the early development and history of Indian Lake.

6The event is open to the public and offers a unique opportunity for residents and visitors to connect with the history of one of Logan County’s most well-known landmarks.

Organizers encourage community members, history enthusiasts, and local residents to attend and be part of this meaningful dedication.
