ODOT District 7 Hiring Summer Highway Workers and Technicians Across Region

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 7 is now accepting applications for two summer seasonal positions that will support highway maintenance operations across western Ohio during the 2026 season.

The temporary roles include Summer Highway Maintenance Worker (no CDL required) and Summer Highway Technician (CDL required). Both positions are classified as temporary, unclassified appointments and will not exceed 1,000 hours of work.

These positions are available in multiple counties served by ODOT District 7, including Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Logan, Preble, Miami, Montgomery, and Shelby counties.

Applicants may work out of several ODOT county garages throughout the region, including:

• Champaign County Garage – 217 S. Edgewood Ave., Urbana
• Clark County Garage – 1630 W. First St., Springfield
• Darke County Garage – 5230 Industrial Way, Greenville
• Greene County Garage – 81 Innovation Dr., Xenia
• Logan County Garage – 149 Northview Dr., Bellefontaine
• Preble County Garage – 234 Quaker-Trace Rd., West Alexandria
• Miami County Garage – 2423 W. State Route 55, Troy
• Montgomery County Garage – 300 Smith Dr., Englewood
• Shelby County Garage – 2190 State Route 29, Sidney

The seasonal roles provide hands-on experience supporting highway operations such as roadway maintenance, safety support, and other field work that helps keep Ohio’s transportation network running smoothly.

Applications for both positions open March 11, 2026, and will remain open on an ongoing basis until positions are filled.
