City of Bellefontaine Hiring Full-Time Water Maintenance Worker

The City of Bellefontaine is now accepting applications for a full-time Water Maintenance Worker to join its Water Department team. This essential position supports the city’s mission of delivering safe, high-quality water to residents while maintaining and improving local water infrastructure.

The starting probationary wage for the position is $22.09 per hour. The role offers hands-on work in system installation, repairs, and ongoing maintenance critical to the operation of Bellefontaine's water services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair waterline systems
• Operate motorized equipment for various water-related projects
• Conduct water quality tests, including turbidity, pH, and chlorine levels
• Maintain and repair pumps, motors, and other related systems
• Inspect water facilities to ensure proper operation
• Manage service tickets, perform leak repairs, and update water meter systems
• Maintain department vehicles, equipment, and grounds

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in semi-skilled labor or equipment operation
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Ohio Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Must remain insurable under the city’s vehicle policy
