Chief Juvenile Probation Officer

​The Logan County Family Court is looking for a Chief Juvenile Probation Officer. The Logan County Family Court is dedicated to justice, community well-being, and partnerships that protect, support, and empower individuals and families by providing quality, timely, and respectful services.
 
This is a full-time position and includes county benefits. 

​ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• As a member of the management team, incumbent is responsible for the delivery of quality services by the Probation Department.  Incumbent is involved in every aspect of operation, planning, budgeting, recruitment, orientation, programming, political advocacy, computerization, facilities, security, and service delivery.
• Implements and/or adjusts procedures, policies and processes as required.
• Advises on such fiscal concerns as monitoring budget and allocations, preparing and recommending annual budgets, and determining funding priorities.
• Advocates for the best interests of juveniles in the community and at the Court.
• Serves as liaison to law enforcement agencies, the Juvenile Detention Center and other juvenile courts.
• Performs as a public relations speaker on behalf of the Court at local schools.
• Participates in the community strategic planning committee, as needed.

 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in social/behavioral science or a related field is required. Related work experience is preferred combined with demonstrated capability in a supervisory role.  Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and no criminal record. Must assume a flexible work schedule and be available outside normal business hours
• Ability to accurately project requirements and control expenditures within budgeting guidelines
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other supervisors, employees, elected officials, and the general public
