Salary Range Varies based upon years of experience in education or industry and highest level of educational attainment based on the certified salary schedule. Work Week/Year Standard School Year (186-day contract + 20 extended days for summer program related responsibilities) Licensure Requirements A valid Ohio career-technical agriculture education certificate or license or five years of work experience in the agriculture field. Preferred Requirements Strong background in agriculture with a focus on animal & plant science, greenhouse & farm management, and mechanical principles. Ability to identify, evaluate, and implement program options, auxiliary services, and curricular materials that support the diverse learning needs of students. Experience working with career technical student organizations. Responsibilities Facilitate student participating in a classroom, lab greenhouse, or field setting. Provide classroom and laboratory instruction to high school students for employment or further education in the field of agriculture Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects. Provide opportunities to students to earn various industry credentials. Encourage students to explore learning opportunities both inside the classroom and in industry. Evaluate student performance, work cooperatively with parents, community, business/industry, and school personnel. Serve as FFA advisor to high school chapter.
