Penhorwood said she chose Bowling Green because the campus felt like home and she immediately connected with the program.

“The cheerleaders and coaching staff are incredibly friendly and supportive, making it easy to feel like part of a family on and off the mat,” Penhorwood said.

Throughout her career with the Chieftains, Penhorwood built an impressive list of accomplishments. She was named the Most Outstanding BHS Cheerleader four times — the most in program history.

She was also named the CBC Jump Champion and CBC Tuck Champion in 2022, earned Second-Team CBC honors in 2023, and received Honorable Mention CBC recognition in 2022.

“Harper’s passion for cheerleading has fueled her hard work and dedication over the last six years to help her reach her goal of becoming a D1 collegiate cheerleader,” BHS varsity cheerleading coach Heather Storm said. “It has been a pleasure to watch her story unfold, and I can’t wait to watch her succeed in her next chapter.”

Penhorwood said the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level is a dream come true.
“I feel very grateful to have the opportunity to sign and pursue my dreams of becoming a Division I cheerleader. Becoming a collegiate cheerleader has been a goal of mine for as long as I can remember,” she said.

While at Bowling Green, Penhorwood hopes to continue improving her skills and compete for a national championship with her team.

In addition to her athletic success, Penhorwood excelled in the classroom, maintaining a 4.1 grade point average at Bellefontaine High School. She plans to study business at BGSU.
Harper is the daughter of Matt Penhorwood and Lindy Martin.

She also considered Ohio State before choosing Bowling Green.

​Family members and coaches joined Caudill for his signing ceremony inside the Sloan Distance Learning Center at Bellefontaine High School.

Caudill said he selected Ashland because of the program’s winning tradition and the opportunity to be part of a successful football culture. Ashland University competes at the NCAA Division II level as a member of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The Eagles captured the conference championship last season.

During his time with the Chieftains, Caudill made an impact on both sides of the football.

Offensively, the running back finished his high school career with 1,818 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns. Defensively, Caudill was a leader from his middle linebacker position, totaling 322 career tackles, 19 tackles for loss, four fumble recoveries, and two defensive touchdowns.

He helped lead Bellefontaine to the Final 8 during his sophomore season.

Caudill also earned several individual honors throughout his career. He was named Academic All-Ohio in 2025, earned First-Team CBC recognition in 2024, and received Second-Team CBC honors during his sophomore and senior seasons.

Despite suffering a leg injury during Week 6 of his senior season, Caudill’s dedication and contributions left a lasting impact on the Chieftain football program.

“Playing college football has been a goal since I was a little kid. Getting that opportunity from Ashland fulfills a dream,” Caudill said. “My goal is to be a 4-year contributor.”

Bellefontaine varsity football coach Jason Brown praised Caudill’s work ethic and commitment.

“Carter sacrificed so much for our program the last few years. He was an impactful player on both sides of the ball. He’s an outstanding young man and a relentless worker,” Brown said.

Brown added that Caudill’s abilities extend beyond carrying the football.

“Carter can do some special things with the ball in his hands, and he’s an excellent blocker.”
In the classroom, Caudill maintained a 3.9 grade point average and plans to study business management at Ashland.

He is the son of Art Caudill and Kelly Caudill.

Caudill also considered Tiffin, Wittenberg, Mount Union, Defiance, and Trine before choosing Ashland.
